Logo
Show your logo in place of the page's name, with an optional second image for visitors in dark mode. PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG, up to 48 KB each.
A logo replaces the page's name in the header. Remove it and the name shows again. The name is still the image's alternative text.
Each image is a PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG of at most 48 KB. Norcube reads the
type from the file's bytes, not from its name. An SVG has to be well-formed XML
with an svg root element in the SVG namespace.
In the dashboard
Open Monitor, then Status pages, and open the page. In the Logo card:
- Click Upload and choose the image.
- Optionally, once there is a logo, upload a Dark mode logo for visitors in dark mode.
Replace swaps an image. Remove on the logo removes both images, and Remove on the dark mode logo removes only that one.
From a terminal
nrc has no command for logos, so use nrc api, with the page's id. Send the
image as base64 in a JSON body:
base64 < logo.svg | tr -d '\n' | jq -Rs '{light: .}' \
| nrc api monitor PUT /status-pages/<id>/logo --input -
nrc api monitor DELETE /status-pages/<id>/logoThrough the API
| Method | Path | What it does |
|---|---|---|
GET | /status-pages/{id}/logo | Returns light and dark as data URIs, left out if unset. |
PUT | /status-pages/{id}/logo | Replaces the whole logo. |
DELETE | /status-pages/{id}/logo | Removes the logo. |
{
"light": "<base64 image>",
"dark": "<base64 image>"
}light is required and dark is optional. PUT replaces the logo as a whole,
so leaving out dark removes the dark image the page had.
Reading a logo needs monitor:GetStatusPage and any Norcube Monitor scope.
Changing one needs monitor:UpdateStatusPage and the
monitor.statuspages scope.
Where it shows
On a published page a new logo is public within a minute. It also appears in
page.json as the absolute URLs
logo and logoDark.
A PNG, JPEG or plain SVG logo also goes on the page's link preview card. A WebP logo shows on the page but not on the card, and neither does an SVG with elements beyond simple shapes, such as text or an embedded image. The card then appears without a logo.
The logo files
A published page serves each image as its own file:
https://<slug>.norcubestatus.com/logo/<hash>.<ext>The same path works on an active custom domain. <hash> comes from the image's
contents, so a new image gets a new address and a file at one address never
changes. Browsers may keep a file for a year, and Norcube's edge keeps a copy for
up to a day.
Don't save these addresses for later. Read the current one from page.json.
After you replace or remove a logo, the old file stops being available about an
hour after the next push of the page, though a copy already on the edge or in a
browser can outlast that.
A draft has no public files. Its logo stays inline in the page, as a data URI, so preview links still show it.
The owner's GET /status-pages/{id}/logo always returns data URIs, on published
pages too.
Custom domains
Serve a status page from a subdomain you control, such as status.acme.com. Prove you own it with a TXT record, point a CNAME at Norcube, and the page goes live there with its own certificate.
Languages
A status page's fixed text comes in eight languages, chosen for each visitor. Your names and posts stay as you wrote them.
