Brand Monitor

Set up Brand Monitor

Create a watcher so DomainRadar alerts you when someone registers a lookalike of your brand.

Brand Monitor watches Certificate Transparency logs and emails you when a domain matching your brand goes live. Set up a watcher in under a minute.

Create a watcher

Open Brand Monitor → Watchers

Open app.norcube.comDomainRadarBrand MonitorWatchers.

New watcher

Click New watcher and fill in:

  • Word – your brand keyword. Keep it short and specific (norcube good; cube bad – too many false positives).
  • Allowlist – comma-separated domains you already own and trust (e.g. norcube.com, app.norcube.com, status.norcube.com). Matches against these are suppressed.
  • Notification email – where alert emails go.
  • Minimum notification score – 0–100. Lower = more emails, higher = quieter. Default 30 is reasonable to start.
  • AI content check – toggle on for high-noise watchers; off for specific brand keywords with low false-positive risk.

Save

Click Create. The watcher starts catching CT log entries immediately. First matches – if any – appear within a few minutes at Brand MonitorDetections.

Tuning the score threshold

Start at 30 and adjust based on email volume:

  • Too many emails – raise the threshold (e.g. 50, 70). Lower-score hits still appear in Detections for retrospective review; they just don't email.
  • Missing real alerts – lower it (e.g. 20). Combine with AI content check for quality.

For very high-traffic brand names, consider:

  • Splitting into multiple watchers with narrower keywords.
  • Adding more entries to the allowlist as you spot legitimate matches.

Edit or pause a watcher

In Watchers:

  • Click a row to edit fields.
  • Toggle Enabled off to pause. Hit history is kept; new matches stop recording.
  • ⋯ → Delete removes the watcher and all its hits permanently.

What costs what

  • A watcher costs per hour it's active. The free tier includes one always-active watcher.
  • An AI content check is billed per check, only when triggered.
  • Listing hits and reviewing them in the dashboard is free.

See pricing for current rates.

Behaviour and edge cases

  • The watcher catches matches forward, not backward. Activating a new watcher doesn't scan historical CT logs.
  • One alert per unique (domain, watcher) pair. Cert renewals don't re-alert.
  • Disabled watchers are paused, not deleted. No hits are recorded while disabled, but watcher config stays.
  • The first watcher is free; additional watchers count as billable resources.
